State of Mind

The mind isn’t always a quiet place. It shifts, fractures, wanders and overwhelms, sometimes all within the same breath. But occasionally, rarely, it stills. Those moments of silence are just as consuming as the chaos that surrounds them. This project began with my own mind, and my own fascination with why it works the way it does.

But I don't think my mind is unusual, I think it's familiar.

Being present in the room but absent from itself.

These images move between the surreal and the everyday because the mind does too. Portraits, still lifes, and environmental photographs that trace what thinking looks like when it surfaces in a body, a room, or a gesture. The unrealistic alongside the real, because it’s never limited to one.

My hope is that somewhere in these images, you find something you recognize. A feeling you couldn’t name. A moment you thought only you had lived inside.
